Anti-Drug Impact Foundation Commends NDLEA on War Against Drug Abuse, Trafficking

The convener, Anti-Drug Impact Foundation, Mr Olayiwola Ibrahim has commended the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA for their tireless efforts in combating drug abuse and trafficking in Nigeria

In a statement signed on Monday, Ibrahim also appreciated Senator Sumaila Kuwa’s courage in bringing attention to the issue of drug abuse among some senators, particularly his revelation before Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin recently.

Ibrahim noted that Sumaila’s courage had shown a good exemplary towards the recovery of Drugs, illicit Substances from Senator Ashiru’s personal home in Ilorin by the member of the NDLEA.

He urged the NDLEA to intensify their efforts in apprehending and prosecuting other senators involved in drug dealing.

The statement reads in part “As the Convener of Anti-Drug Impact Foundation, I Olayiwola Ibrahim wishes to commend the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA for their tireless efforts in combating drug abuse and trafficking in Nigeria

“The agency’s dedication to enforcing drug laws, preventing illicit trafficking, and eradicating narcotic plants and substances is truly commendable.

*We also appreciate Senator Sumaila Kuwa’s courage in bringing attention to the issue of drug abuse among some senators, particularly his revelation before Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin.

“Sumaila’s courage had shown a good exemplary towards the recovery of Drugs, illicit Substances from Senator Ashiru’s personal home in Ilorin by the member of the NDLEA

“This bold step highlights the need for collective action against this menace.

*However, we urge the NDLEA to intensify their efforts in apprehending and prosecuting other senators involved in drug dealing.

“It is imperative that these individuals face the law and answer for their actions. We therefore call on the NDLEA to intensify raids and arrests, continue to identify and apprehend those involved in drug trafficking, regardless of their position or status.

“NDLEA should collaborate with international agencies to combat cross-border drug trafficking and share intelligence.

“NDLEA should also put Sustain efforts in place to destroy illicit cultivation of narcotic plants and substances.

“The NDLEA’s role in preventing illicit trafficking, enforcing drug laws, and tracing financial proceeds from drug related activities is crucial. We support their efforts and encourage them to remain vigilant in the fight against drug abuse”.

Ibrahim also appreciated General Buba Marwa, Chairman of NDLEA, the public Relation Officer, Mr Femi Babafemi, and the entire men of the Agency.

“Together we can create a safer, healthier Nigeria”, Ibrahim said.
