Man declared wanted for alleged involvement in terrorism, murder

One Osagie Festus, suspected to be among the gang that attacked a community in Edo state, South South Nigeria recently has been declared wanted by security operatives.

Osagie Festus was said to have been declared wanted after he was said to have escaped arrest for his alleged involvement in the terror attack that led to dead of many people in Evbosi Community in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo state.

Some unknown gangs, it was gathered, attacked the community recently where many people were injured and and not fewer than 10 people died.

Our correspondent gathered that one of the terrorists was arrested and confessed that a member of the community, suspected to be one Osagie Festus is their friend who also aided them to carry out the attack, leading to the death of not less than 10 people and many people injured.

A Source said more than 10 people, which also include some men of the security operatives died and many people injured during the attack.

According to many sources who spoke to our correspondent, after Festus name was mentioned, the security operatives attempted to arrest him but he managed to escape and nobody knows his whereabouts till date.

It was gathered that since Festus managed to escape arrest, his family has also moved away from the community.

However, security operatives have confirmed that they are on top of the situation and leaving no stone unturned to arrest Festus and other suspects that had hands in the terror attack in the community.

Terrorism and murder are serious criminal offences in Nigeria that attracted not just a long time imprisonment but also capital punishment of dead sentence when found guilty.
