Lesbianism: police arrest 6, declare UNIBEN staff, partner wanted

 Edo State police command has declared one Iyen Sheila Eregbowa and her partner, Eki Eraimatoe wanted, having earlier arrested six other suspects for alleged involvement in lesbianism, an act punishable by law as enshrined in the Nigerian constitution with a 14 years jail terms, if found guilty.

 The Edo state police criminal investigation and intelligent department is calling on the general public with useful information about the whereabouts of Iyen Sheila Eregbowa and her partner, Eki Eraimatoe to report same to their office in GRA, Benin city or any nearest police station to enable the force arrest and prosecute the wanted suspects. 

According to police investigation report, the six suspects were arrested on the 3rd and 4th March 2018 in Ugbor, in Government Reservation Area (G. R. A), Benin City following a tip off. Before the arrest, it was gathered that there have been several intelligent reports revolving around Iyen Sheila Eregbowa 28, a graduate of Igbinedion University Okada and a Staff of University of Benin (UNIBEN) and her 30 years old partner, Eki Eraimatoe, who is also said to be a graduate of Igbinedion University. 

Following intelligent report, the police busted the premises suspected to be the hideout of the said lesbians in Government Reservation Area (G. R. A), Benin City, where six girls were arrested, and several others escaped.

 According to police investigation report, the arrested suspects confessed to the crime and declared that they were member of Lesbian fraternities in University of Benin. 

 The arrested suspects, according to investigation report, have also confessed that Iyen Sheila Eregbowa and her partner, Eki Eraimatoe were the coordinator of Lesbian group in University of Benin. 

 Following their confession, report said the detectives swung into action, searching for Iyen Sheila Eregbowa and her partner, Eki Eraimatoe, as well as other suspected escaped members of the group.

Incidentally, one of the escaped suspects, identified as Jane Odibe was arrested in her hideout at Amagba in Benin city, Edo State. Reports also have it that Iyen Sheila Eregbowa allegedly has affinity with similar group in South Africa and has been given mandate to initiate girls in UNIBEN and other higher institutions in Nigeria to a well funded lesbian group. 

 The investigation report also revealed that Iyen Sheila Eregbowa travelled to South Africa twice between September 24 and November 6, 2015 and received financial aid to be able to carry out the assignment successfully.

 It was gathered that Iyen Sheila Eregbowa has earlier made her mother’s house at 11, Amaze street, Ugbor, GRA, Benin city the meeting point for the lesbian group in collaboration with her foreign partner to push their lesbian agenda in Nigeria.

However, they were said to have run to unknown location to evade arrest, before the police invaded their hideout and six of their members were arrested.  

 The police have called on the general public with useful information about the whereabouts of Iyen Sheila Eregbowa and her partner, Eki Eraimatoe to report same to the nearest police station for an arrest and prosecution.
