Police arraign woman for allegedly biting man’s ear
The police, Ogun State command on Wednesday arraigned a 25-year-old woman, Edet Gift for allegedly biting a man’s ear.
Gift was arraigned before an Otta Magistrates’ Court in Ogun State.
The 25 years old who lives at No. 4, Ojubanire St., Off Joju, Otta, is facing a charge of assault.
according the the Prosecutor, Inspector. Rosemary Samson, told the court that the accused Gift committed the offence on October 30.
the prosecutor told the court that the accused person assaulted the complainant, Mr Oily Mayowa, by biting his left ear when a fight broke out between them at about 9.30am at her residence, pointing that the incident caused the complainant bodily injury.
Samson said the offense contravened Section 338 of Criminal Code, Vol. 1, Law of Ogun State, 2006.
Gift however, pleaded not guilty to the offense.
The Magistrate, Mrs B. S. Abdulsalam, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The court said that the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and be gainfully employed with evidence of tax payment to Ogun State Government.
The matter has been adjourned till November 12, 2018 for hearing.
