Several Nigerians, majorly on twitter have earlier berated Akindele, saying she has not set good example considering her status in the country, more so when she’s an Ambassador of Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), one of the agencies in the fore front of the fight against Coronavirus in Nigeria.

Although the actress has tried to give some explanation to defend her action, when she wrote on Instagram: “Dear Friends, I really have to do this!! I hear you all and I acknowledge all your honest feedback. I also thank you for your concerns, well wishes and calls. I am sorry and hope this video offers some explanation. Please stay safe. And God bless.

In another video on Sunday afternoon, Akindele said the people seen in the video were workers in her studio who live outside Lagos but were caught up with the lockdown when it was announced by the federal government unexpectedly, her explanation however did not hold water
