Friends, well-wishers and professional colleagues converged on TATIANA HOTEL AND SUITES, FESTAC Town, Lagos, recently, as The Prestige Blended Magazine honoured Veteran actor cum Maritime Practitioner, Metu Augustine Ejike Esq with Great Achievers Award as PRESTIGIOUS MARITIME PERSONALITY.
It was a delightful moment as friends and professional colleagues of the multi talented personality expressed excitement for being privileged to witness the event.
The Prestige Blended Magazine chose to honour the veteran actor for being a man of many parts. Metu Augustine Ejike is a veteran compere, a journalist as well as a seasoned Maritime Practitioner and has shown uniqueness in all of them.
In a brief speech before the award Presentation, the Principal Staff Officer to the National President of Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents, ANLCA, Dr.Obicee Okonkwo, described Metu Augustine Ejike Esq as a man who has carved niches for himself in his chosen fields, adding that what has kept him going is his exceptional wisdom and uncommon courage.
In his words” Ejike is a man of courage and uncommon wisdom, he is full of creative ideas and that has kept him going. He does not believe in impossibilities and that is why when you say this is likely not to work out, Ejike will tell you that it is going to work out. I am not surprised that this outfit has chosen to honour him today because of what he represents, remember the saying, the golden fish has no hiding place”.
In his words of appreciation, the Chief Executive Officer Metusela Maritime and Logistics Services Limited, and Chairman, Metuobi Investment Limited, expressed happiness saying that he was humbled by the recognition and honour accorded to him by the outfit and promised not to relent in the professional areas that made him worthy of such honour.
The recipient, who is also the Chairman, Board of Trustees of Association of Registered Freight Forwarders, Nigeria, AREFFN, advised young Maritime Practitioners to remain focused and hard-working, and shun every form of circumvention or unnecessary infractions that could jeopardize their efforts in the course of business, urging them to be patriotic and law abiding. He also disclosed the readiness of the Association of Registered Freight Forwarders,Nigeria, AREFFN,under the able leadership of Alhaji Bala Lawan Daura, to work closely with other sister associations to address certain challenges being faced by clearing agents on daily basis.
In his remark, the Chairman AREFFN,PTML Chapter, Emmanuel Ohambele Esq., described Metu Augustine Ejike as a true Unionist, and a man of ideas, saying that having Alhaji Bala Lawan Daura as the National President of AREFFN, and Metu Augustine Ejike as the BoT Chair has really repositioned the association to take its place in the comity of other associations.
