Human Right Day: Opeifa Urges Government to Respect Right of the Poor

Former commissioner for transport in Lagos state and Vice Chairman, presidential taskforce on Apapa gridlock, comrade kayode opeifa has called on the Nigeria government to respect the right of the poor masses in the country.
Opeifa made the call at a program organised by the Lagos State Chapter of the Committee for the Defense of Human Right (CDHR) to mark the annual world Human right day in Lagos.
In the face of the ongoing pandemic, Opeifa in his remark at the event, urge the government to ensure that the poor have access to the covid-19 vaccine whenever it is available in the country.
“When covid-19 vaccine gets to the country, the poor and everybody must have equal right to the vaccine. There must be no favoritism for the rich. Price should not be used to disable the poor from accessing the vaccine”, Opeifa said.
Speaking further, opeifa said “if there is palliative, it must be made available for all and sundry. The right of the poor must be taken care of”.
