Abuja popular Cleric decries spate of decadency amongst youths
The general overseer of Shiloh Word Chapel Abuja, a non-denominational organization, Prophet Ikechukwu Samuel has spoken out against the rising rate of barbarism, especially amongst today’s youth in Nigeria.
The founder and general overseer of the Abuja based ministry (Shiloh word chapel), in a chat with the media recently said “It is becoming so worrisome and it calls for urgent attention from all of us. Today’s generation is full of wrong, terribly inordinate ambitions. Without having any tangible source of livelihood, they want to drive big cars, houses and fly jets with fat bank accounts, especially from the age of 15-30.
“It is good to have big dreams, but the evil and wrong thing is that they are now going suicidal and barbaric. They are into ritual killings and going to burial grounds to sleep, bath and eat out of wastes on dumpsites. They do all sorts of dirty acts, no one wants to serve a master before becoming a boss again. They don’t want to learn any trade, Jack of all trade and master of no.
Speaking further, the cleric said “drug addiction, clubbing and drinking to stupor is the new fashion today. Cultism everywhere, this only leads to short life; accidents and madness. Today, slay girls go to Clubs and takes drugs, no respect to any one and they wants to marry rich young boys, not minding how they got the sudden wealth. You may be the next victim because the sacrifice continues for life.
He urged parent to teach their children in the way of God. “Parents teach your children that the only way to life is Jesus and hard work after education, prayer is the key, other short- cuts are evil ways, Nigeria youths home and abroad repent from fast lane. I sang a song ” ubasinachi “akalanileaburofu; may God restore our youths, Jesus is near. I am so passionate especially to see the youth becoming what God has designed them to be, not been swayed away by the tides of decadency.”
The Cleric concern is coming against the backdrop of the increased spate of ritual killings amongst the youth in Nigeria that is been reported in daily in the media space.
According to the Prophet Samuel, whatever a child becomes begins from the home front. He therefore urged Parents to endeavour to play their roles in molding the children so as to have a better society and nation.
