Unity Estate Residents Usher In 2023 with Unity of Purpose, Prayer, Merry Making 

…As leaders seek more collaborative efforts.

A clarion call has gone to residents of Unity Estate in Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State to maintain peace and be more united in order to tackle the menace of underdevelopment which may hinder progressive efforts of the community leadership.  

This admonition was made by community leaders during the prayer session organized to usher in the New Year 2023.  

In his remark, the chairman of Unity Estate Community Development Association, Mr. Ajibade Okeowo said that the journey has been characterized by thick and thin since he became the chairman in 2019; but he gave thanks to God for scaling through despite all the odds.  

While thanking all the residents of the estate for their cooperation since he assumed the mantle of leadership, he urged them to continue to live with love and peace which has been the hallmark of the estate since inception.  

He also highlighted spirited efforts made by his executive members and other well-meaning landlords before the new transformer could be installed.  

Okeowo used the occasion to send save- our-souls messages to Ogun State government, especially Ifo Local Government to let the community feel their presence. In his words “we are always ready to collaborate with relevant individuals or government to bring a hospital, a police station, schools and other developmental projects to our community.”  

He continued that “we community members are ready to play a critical and vital role if the opportunities come our way”. He also said that it was very unfortunate how politicians forget their community after election.  

He then enjoined the residents to go and collect their permanent voters card and troop out on election day to perform their civic responsibilities.  

The prayer session was led by Pastor Temitope Sanmori Pastor Adedayo Osho and Senior Evangelist Femi Akinwasola while Fadhilat Sheik Isiak Abdulrasheed Al-Adabiy led the Muslim prayers. 

Also speaking at the programme, Mr. Kayode Solomon praised the Ajibade led executive for transparency in their administration. He urged the executive not to listen to wrong accusations that may come their way as that can’t be ruled out in a complex community like theirs.  

In the same vein, Mr. Kunle Ibrahim also known as Big Daddy  said that he was impressed with progress being recorded in recent times. He added that though they still have a long way to go but the journey of a thousand miles begins with a step. He then thanked all the residents for their unalloyed support for the executive. 

Another resident,  Mrs. Musilimotu Akinleye prayed for the community and urged residents who have not paid their developmental levies to do so. 

A community leader and member of the think tank, Mr. Adedayo Somoye expressed joy  and thanked all the residents of the community for making electricity restoration to the community a reality. 

He enjoined the executive members not to relent in their efforts to move the community to greater heights. Adding that they should not create fertile ground for all manners of mischief motivated by diverse factors and interests; saying love and unity should be their watchword.  

The programme which was well attended have Comrade Tunde Afolabi, Mr. Olajide Solomon, a.k.a. Baba Yellow. Mr. Adewale Benjamin a.k.a. Sugar Mr. Kolade Adebayo, a.k.a. Kabiyesi, Mr. Ganiu Tunde Abiodun, Mr. Tajudeen Alausa.  

Others are Mr. Kazeem Salami, Mr. Adewumi Adeniyi, Mrs. Veronica Alausa, Mr.Sulaiman Rasakl among others in attendance
