APC Support Groups Form Unified Forum, Review Campaign Strategy

As the 2023 general elections approach, support groups canvassing for votes for All Progressive Congress (APC) candidates in Oyo State have come under one umbrella under the name “Oyo State Support Group Forum”. The coming together of all the groups which took place on Tuesday, at the APC State Secretariat, Oke Ado, Ibadan had over 25 Support Groups leadership in attendance.

According to the convener of the forum, Alhaji Suleiman Hammed, the rationale behind the move was to come with different winning strategies since they are all working days and nights to achieve common goals.

Hammed said there was need to come up with strategic communication that will be tailored towards content analysing the messages of APC candidates to the electorates. He added that they needed to understand the language of the street.

He said “we have come up with an idea of having an umbrella body since we all work to achieve the same goal. The emergence of different support groups is an indication of acceptance of our candidates from the federal to the state level”

Also speaking at the occasion, the State Youth Leader of the party, Hon. John Aremu reiterated the commitment of the party leadership to making sure that all the support groups are carried along in the scheme of things and given adequate support to achieve their goals. He charged them on the reasons Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Teslim Kolawole Folarin should be elected president and governor respectively. He added that Oyo State needed a government that can create a workable system and can think outside the box to enhance the economic growth of their state.

Hon. Aderibigbe Suraj Adeola, a youth leader in the forum enjoined all the coordinators to double their efforts. He maintained that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Teslim Folarin are marketable products that can change the story of their respective domains if elected.

Another member of the forum, Ms Saidat Dauda urged members not to relent in their efforts to reach every nook and cranny of the state in their campaign.

The forum has Alhaji Jelili of Coalition for Tinubu/Shettima Progressive Group Worldwide as Interim Secretary.
