Woman cries for help over threat to her brother’s life
One Joy Alohan from Egor Quarters, in Benin City, Edo State, South-South Nigeria, has called on relevant authorities and governments in Nigeria and International community to come to the aid of her family, saying the life of her brother and other members of her family is in danger.
She made the call to the relevant authorities and governments in a document made available to our correspondent, which also contained a sworn affidavit.
Joy had said in the affidavit that her parent, Mr Alohan Osadolor and Mrs Blessing Alohan had three children, namely Alohan Joy, Alohan Osayande and Alohan Lucky.
According to her, on the 12th day of December 2022, her younger brother, Alohan Lucky engaged in an argument with his friend identified as Victor Enoma that led to a fight.
She said in the affidavit that, during the process of fighting, Lucky pushed his friend, Emoma who unfortunately hit his head against the wall and then fell on the ground. She added that Enoma was immediately rushed to the nearby hospital where he was confirmed dead.
In the affidavit, Joy said “when the information of the death of Victor Enoma got to his family, two of his brothers came to my family house to look for my brother Lucky, luckily my brother was not at home, so they destroyed the Alohan family house and left a note of warning saying that whenever or wherever they see members of the Alohan family that they will kill them and make sure they wipe out the entire family.
“That, they said they belong to Black Axe Confraternity and that even the Police cannot help us because they must avenge their brother’s death no matter how long it takes. They also mentioned my brother Alohan Osayande’s name that he should never in his entire life be seen anywhere in Nigeria because if they see him, they will make sure he died”.
Alohan Joy stated further in the affidavit “that the life of my entire family is at risk and we are scared of coming of our hiding because of this matter”.
Although, as of the time of this report, the whereabouts of Lucky is not known. There is also apprehension whether the cultists have been able to catch and kill him since nobody knows his whereabouts now.
Joy is however pleading with the governments and relevant authorities in the international community to render aid to his brother and other members of the family.
