The Maritime Journalists Association of Nigeria (MAJAN), has honoured the President-General, Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Prince Adewale Adeyanju, with the prestigious Maritime Labour Icon Award.
The Award was bestowed on him on May 25, 2023, shortly after the Round Table Discussion organized by the Association and held at the Association’s Secretariat at Apapa, Lagos State.
Speaking during the special occasion, the President of MAJAN, Comrade Ray Ugochukwu, described Comrade Adeyanju as a reputable Maritime Labour Icon, who has through hard work and doggedness successfully liberated Maritime Workers from oppression.
In his remarks, Comrade Adeyanju, who is also the Deputy National President of Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), expressed appreciation to MAJAN for recognizing his effort in the industry. He also commended the pro-activeness of Maritime Journalists in reporting activities in the sector.
