Labour Party raises alarm over opponent’s threat to a member’s life

One of the opposition parties in Edo State, South-South Nigeria, the Labour Party has raised an alarm over the threat of another political party to the life of one of its key members, identified as Kenneth Osagiede.
According to a petition and public notice document obtained last week, dated 26th July 2023 and signed by the ward chairman of the party in Oduna Ward in Ovia North East Local government Area of the state, Prince Dayo, the party is calling on every concerned authority in any state, or country to come to the aide of Osagiede wherever he currently resides and grant him the needed assistance and protection.
The petition stated that Kenneth Osagiede is a loyal, trusted, and committed member of the party and worked assiduously for the party during the campaign period before the last presidential election, held in February 2023.
The party said Kenneth Osagiede played a key role for the party during the campaign period, especially for the presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
According to the party, because of the important roles Osagiede played by campaigning vigorously to ensure that the party presidential candidate, Peter Obi win, members of another party started trailing and threatening to harm, maim and kill him,
It was in the process that Osagiede had to run away from the country.
Although they don’t know exactly where Osagiede currently resides, the party is urging any concerned authority, state, or country to render necessary assistance and protection to him wherever he resides.
