House Committee on Crude Oil Theft Public Hearing: TANTITA Recommends Strengthening Fight Against Oil Theft

The Tantita Security Security Services Nigeria Limited has recommended for strengthening the fight against oil thieft.
It also advocated for an inter-agency collaboration, community engagement and advanced technology in fighting oil theft in Nigeria.

This was contained in Tantita’s presentation at the House of Representatives Special Committee on Crude Oil Theft public hearing to address the issue of crude oil theft in Nigeria.
Tantita’s presentation was adjudged to be outstanding at the hearing as it reeled out data-driven approach , showcasing the effectveness of their efforts in combating oil theft.

Tantita also backed its presentation with statistics on oil theft in the areas where they operate, details of surveillance and monitoring systems, and success stories of arrested oil thieves and recovered stolen oil.

The hearing also brought together representatives from various organizations which include the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), National Inland Waterways (NIWA), Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), and Department of State Services (DSS).

In it’s presentation, NNPCL highlighted the impact of crude oil theft on the nation’s economy and the need for collaborative efforts to address the issue.
NIWA emphasized the importance of securing inland waterways to prevent oil theft.

CBN annalise the financial implications of oil theft and the need for a multi-faceted approach to address the issue.

The Directorate of State Security Services (DSS), shared intelligence on the modus operandi of oil thieves and the need for enhanced security measures.

The public hearing underscored the severity of crude oil theft in Nigeria and its far-reaching consequences.
