BADARU, MATAWALLE CONDEMN KILLING OF DISTRICT HEAD OF GATAWA
.CALL FOR IMMEDIATE ARREST OF PERPETRATORS
The Minister of Defence. Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, as well as the Minister of State for Defence, Dr Bello Matawalle have strongly condemned in totality the gruesome killing of the Head of Gatawa District in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State, Alhaji Isa Bawa
They described the killing as wicked, heinous and unimaginable.
In the light of this, Badaru has called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators, assuring that the Nigerian military will leave no stone unturned in bringing them to justice.
In a statement signed on Friday by Director, Information and Public Relation, Ministry of Defence,Mr Henshaw Ogubike, Badaru said “the killing of the District Head of Gatawa is a callous and cruel act that will not be tolerated,” the Minister said. “We will do everything in our power to ensure that those responsible are held accountable and brought to book.”
He reiterated the commitment of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration to fully support the Nigerian Armed Forces in their efforts to combat insurgency, banditry, kidnapping, and other forms of terrorism.
Badaru opined that President Tinubu has provided all logistics to the Armed Forces and that they will ensure that these bandits are neutralised and dislodged permanently.
“We are working tirelessly with the Nigerian Armed Forces and other Security agencies to ensure the safety and security of all Nigerians,” Minister Badaru said.
“The recent flashes of kidnapping are signs that the kidnappers’ days are numbered. They will soon be defeated totally”, Badaru added.
While commiserating with the family of the late District Head, the people of Gatawa, and the entire Sokoto State Government, he assured the family members of other kidnapped victims that everything possible is being done to secure their release safely.
in another statement on Friday, Matawalle said the killing of Alhaji Isa Bawa of Gatawa District is a senseless and brutal act that will not be tolerated.

In view of this, Dr. Matawalle has directed the Chief of Defence Staff to immediately launch a thorough investigation into the incident and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.
He noted that security is one of the top agenda of President Tinubu and he has been giving full support to the military.
He assured the public that the Armed Forces of Nigeria will leave no stone unturned in fishing out the perpetrators of this heinous crime and bringing them to justice.
“We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of all Nigerians,” Dr. Matawalle said.
The Minister of state expressed his deepest condolences to the family of the late District Head , the people of Gatawa, and the entire Sokoto State Government.
