PTML CUSTOMS COMMAND HITS HISTORICAL ILLICIT DRUG SEIZURES IN EMPTY CONTAINER

BY James Shodiya   -The Port and Terminal Multiservices Limited (PTML) Command of Nigeria Customs Service has made a Significant and mysterious Cocaine Seizures Worths #29.4Billion on Tuesday in Lagos

Addressing News men at the Command, the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Joe Anani said that the interception was first of its kind in the history of the command where container that was brought into the Country for loading export Consignments will be found carrying an illicit drugs of such magnitude substance.

The CAC added that a total of 50 packages containing 20 parcels each were found inside the container which was confirmed positive to Cocaine and was jointly weighed at 100kg(1 ton) with officers of Nigeria Customs Service and National Drug Law Enforcement Agency.

According Comptroller Anani, ” In the history of PTML, this is the first time a hard drug of this category and quantity was uncovered. It is also one of the most mysterious interceptions of Cocaine in the history of the Service ‘

The 1x20ft Container with Registration numbe GCNU1442851 originated from Freetown Sierra Leon and was uncovered during a routine disinfection exercise on October 7th 2025

While commending all sister Agencies for their collaboration and support for the command, he reaffirmed his commitment to zero tolerance for prohibited items into the Country and warned Port users and Stakeholders that PTML will continue to be a no go Area for items prohibited from import and export and officially handed the seized drugs to the NDLEA officers for further investigation
