Customs, Tin Can Command Hits ₦154bn in October, as B’Odogwu Platform, Controller Onyeka Leadership Deepens Trade Efficiency

The Tin Can Island Port Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) is experiencing a remarkable upswing in its revenue profile, driven by the dynamic leadership of Comptroller Frank O. Onyeka and the operational efficiency of the newly deployed B’Odogwu platform.

Under Onyeka’s stewardship, the Command has sustained a trajectory of disciplined administration and clear revenue-focused strategies. These efforts, reinforced by the adoption of the Unified Customs Management System known as B’Odogwu, have continued to yield tangible results across its operational spectrum.

For October, the Tin Can Island Command recorded an impressive revenue collection of ₦154,384,834,050.93, marking its second-highest monthly haul in the Command’s history.

According to the command Public Relations Officer, CSC Oscar Ivara, the Command’s best performance to date remains the ₦159 billion generated in August 2025.

Comptroller Onyeka attributed the October success to the seamless deployment of the indigenous B’Odogwu trade system, noting that the platform has “greatly strengthened trade facilitation and boosted revenue outcomes.” He emphasized that the digital tool has become central to improving efficiency and deepening compliance among port users.

The Customs Area Controller had earlier applauded the diligence and professionalism of his officers, while acknowledging the cooperation of stakeholders whose roles he described as invaluable to the Command’s steady progress. He also expressed appreciation to the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, for consistently supporting the Command’s operational drive.

A major pillar of the Command’s recent achievements is its alignment with the CGC’s policy direction, which emphasizes collaboration, consolidation and innovation. This strategic focus has continued to energize activities at the Tin Can Island Command and reinforce its status as a leading revenue-generating formation within the NCS.
