Pastor Evelyn Joshua Urges Worshippers to Have Absolute Trust in God, as SCOAN Holds Thanksgiving Service

By Ranmilowo Ojalumo -The Leader of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Pastor Evelyn T.B. Joshua, has called on worshipers at the SCOAN and Christians around the world to anchor their lives on absolute trust in God, declaring that only unwavering dependence on God can guarantee victory, direction and peace in the year ahead.
She gave the charge on Sunday, December 7, 2025, during the church’s vibrant annual Thanksgiving service held at its headquarters in Ikotun, Lagos.
The service, which drew thousands of worshippers from across Nigeria, Africa and overseas, was marked by spirited praise, heartfelt testimonies, thanksgiving prayers and expressions of gratitude for what many described as a year of divine intervention and supernatural upliftment. Emmanuel TV broadcast the service live, connecting millions of viewers globally.

Pastor Evelyn T.B Joshua leads…
In her message, Pastor Evelyn Joshua said Thanksgiving at SCOAN transcends a mere event and reflects a deep recognition of God’s unending mercies. She reminded congregants that every believer has a responsibility to acknowledge God’s faithfulness and trust Him completely for the journey ahead.
“As we move into the coming year, I encourage you all to hold on to God with absolute trust, walk with Him boldly, expectantly and joyfully, for the path of the righteous is like the shining sun that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day”, she said.
According to her, the church entered 2025 with a prophetic declaration of being a “forward-looking year,” revealed by the Holy Spirit. She said the fulfillment of that declaration has been evident in the countless testimonies from members and partners, proving that God remains at the center of the church’s growth and spiritual transformation.
“We have watched God move His people from sickness to healing, from lack to abundance, from disappointment to divine appointment. We have witnessed testimonies that remind us once again that when God is involved, the impossible becomes possible”, She said.
Pastor Evelyn took time to reflect on SCOAN’s journey since the passing of Prophet T.B. Joshua, in 2021. She described the last four years as a period of both sober reflection and divine strengthening, noting that God has sustained the ministry through a season that tested its resilience and faith.
“It is God who has been our helper, our comforter, our all. He has kept His church alive, strengthened His people, and proven that His work is bigger than any single individual.”
She expressed gratitude to the global Emmanuel TV partners for their steadfast support, describing them as “pillars of this kingdom mission.” She said their contributions in prayer, service, giving and commitment have continued to push the ministry forward.
“Your faithfulness is seen, your sacrifice is felt, and your reward is sure,” she said, referencing Hebrews 6:10, which states that God is not unrighteous to forget the labor of love of His children.
Her message resonated deeply with members, many of whom expressed appreciation for what they described as Pastor Evelyn’s calm, firm and spiritually grounded leadership. Several worshippers acknowledged that her guidance has helped keep the church stable, united and focused on its global evangelism mandate.
A Ugandan worshipper, Dr. Patrick Kpashagsi, who attended the service in Lagos, emphasized that Thanksgiving is central to the identity of the SCOAN community.
He said “Thanksgiving is not just an event for us; it’s who we are. SCOAN was founded under the direction of God through Prophet T.B. Joshua, and Pastor Evelyn has carried that mantle with great grace. We celebrate God’s unending goodness and surrender ourselves to His will.”
Others who gave testimonies expressed gratitude to God for sustaining the church and helping it remain a beacon of hope for people seeking healing, deliverance and spiritual transformation. They commended Pastor Evelyn for holding the ministry together and continuing the legacy of compassion and service championed by her late husband.
The atmosphere at the service was electric with worship, as choristers led the congregation in songs of praise and thanksgiving. Emotional testimonies were shared by individuals.
Pastor Evelyn encouraged worshippers not to merely celebrate what God has done but to prepare their hearts for greater manifestations of His power in 2026.
“In this ministry, better is not good enough; the best is yet to come. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ rest upon you; may His Spirit lead us forward as we put our hands in His hands. Your testimonies shall multiply beyond measure”, Pastor Evelyn Joshua prayed.
The Thanksgiving service concluded with collective praise, dancing and prayers of commitment, as members declared gratitude for the past year and hope for a brighter, God-guided year ahead.
