COMTUA Elects New National, Lagos State Officers

The Council of Maritime Transport Unions and Associations (COMTUA) has elected a new set of national and Lagos State officers to lead the association for the next four years.
The election, held on July 9, 2026, brought together delegates from the various unions, groups and associations under the COMTUA umbrella, culminating in the emergence of a new leadership expected to steer the affairs of the maritime transport body.
Prince Adeyinka Aroyewun was elected National President, while Mr Moshood Adisa emerged as National Deputy President. Other members of the National Management Team are Alhaji Wasiu Olatunji as National Deputy Operations, Mr Augustine Erhabor as National Secretary, Mr Joseph Adekayaja as National Treasurer, Alhaji Muyideen Olapade as Director of Protocol, Planning and Logistics, and Ms Adekoyeni Ademola as National Financial Secretary.
The association also constituted a five-member Elders’ Council to serve as its advisory body. Members of the council are Alhaji Abdulkareem Oluwayomi, Alhaji Muhammed Owolabi, Chief Jelili Sanni, Mr Gbenga Okunlade and Mr Ogunkomaya Adewale.
In Lagos State, Mr Moshood Adisa was elected Chairman of the State Executive Council. Other elected officers include Mr Raman Folorunsho as Vice Chairman (Administration), Mr Gbenga Okunlade as Vice Chairman (Operations), Mr Dada Kayode as Secretary, Mrs Celestina Uki as Treasurer, Mr Tunde Oladokun as Financial Secretary, Mr Isiaka Olatunji as Organising Secretary, Hakeem Yusuf as Welfare Secretary, Mr Henry Chibueze as Assistant Secretary, Mr Ogunkomaya Solomon as Assistant Financial Secretary, Mr Malik Olayinka as Chief Whip, Mr Ismaila Salami as Planning and Logistics Secretary, Mr Joseph Adekayaja as Publicity Secretary, while Bilal Adedeji and Alhaji Dauda Adeyemo were elected Ex-Officio members.
The newly elected officers are expected to pilot the affairs of the association over the next four years and strengthen collaboration among maritime transport unions and associations across the country.
COMTUA said the date for the inauguration of the new executives would be announced later.
