EDUCATION IS THE BEDROCK: AIGBEFOH, UNIABUJA DON TASK FG, PHILANTHROPISTS ON MASSIVE INVESTMENT AS NIMAT GRADUATES 5TH SET

Legal luminary, publisher and humanitarian, *Chief Prof. Amb. Ebosetale David Aigbefoh, Esq.*, and *Prof. Ichado Sunday* of the Institute of Education, University of Abuja, have called on the Federal Government, corporate organizations and philanthropists to make massive investments in education and human capital development.
The call was made on Saturday during the 5th Graduation and Prize-Giving Ceremony of *NIMAT International Academy, Tungan Maje, Abuja*. The high point of the event was the unveiling of the school’s mini stadium named *“CHIEF PROF EBOSETALE DAVID AIGBEFOH ESQ STADIUM”* in honour of Aigbefoh’s contributions to the institution.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chief Aigbefoh said no nation can attain meaningful development without deliberate investment in quality education and the empowerment of its people.
He urged Nigerians to complement government efforts through infrastructure development, scholarships, mentorship programmes and other initiatives that promote academic excellence.
He also appealed to the Federal Government to prioritize the education sector by increasing funding, improving infrastructure, and implementing policies that will enhance teaching and learning nationwide.
Describing the stadium honour as “a call to greater service,” Aigbefoh said:
_“I hope it will encourage more Nigerians to invest in our schools and support programmes that promote the holistic development of our children.”_
Delivering the keynote address, *Prof. Ichado Sunday* described education as *“the bedrock of national development,”* stressing that no country can achieve sustainable progress without a strong educational system.
He noted that government alone cannot shoulder the responsibility of educating Nigerian children, and emphasized the need for greater collaboration between public and private stakeholders.
_“The government alone cannot provide all that is required for the education of our children. When private proprietors and other stakeholders complement government efforts, the sector moves in the right direction,”_ he said.
Prof. Sunday further observed that many private schools outperform their public counterparts due to effective leadership, proper management and accountability. He added that competence should remain a key criterion in the administration of educational institutions.
Earlier, *Mr. Atuluku Abdullahi*, CEO of NIMAT International Academy, thanked Chief Aigbefoh for his unwavering support to the school. He described the naming of the stadium after him as a well-deserved recognition of his generosity and dedication to learning.
Abdullahi also urged other well-meaning Nigerians, corporate bodies and philanthropists to emulate Chief Aigbefoh, noting that such interventions will help produce responsible, productive and globally competitive future leaders.
The event featured graduation of pupils and students, presentation of prizes to outstanding learners, cultural performances, and goodwill messages from parents, guests and education stakeholders.
