The Chairman of the Senate Committee on the South East Development Commission (SEDC), Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has expressed satisfaction with the progress of work on the ongoing construction of the Commission’s headquarters in Enugu State.
Kalu made this known during an oversight visit to the project site, where he led members of the Senate Committee to inspect the level of work and assess progress on the construction.
The former Abia State governor commended the leadership of the Commission for its commitment and efforts towards ensuring the successful execution of the project.
He reaffirmed the Committee’s commitment to providing the necessary legislative oversight and support to ensure that the Commission delivers on its mandate of driving development across the South East geopolitical zone.
Kalu noted that effective oversight remains essential to ensuring that projects undertaken by the Commission align with its development objectives and contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic advancement of the region.
The visit highlights the Senate Committee’s commitment to monitoring the Commission’s activities and supporting initiatives aimed at accelerating development across the South East.
