Police Declare Taxi Driver, Who Witnessed Murder of Two In A Suspected Cult Attack Wanted
The Edo State Command of the Nigerian Police Force has issued a public appeal for help in finding one Mr. Matthew Imaraiyiosa, a 34-year-old man who has gone missing.
According to the reports on July 10th 2023, armed members of the dreaded cult group, known as Neo Black Movement of Africa (Black axe) struck and killed two persons identified as Kennedy Eghe Ehigiator (a.k.a Schoolboy) and Emmanuel (a.k.a Emma sexy)when they stormed a bar at Okhun community in Edo State.
Matthew a Taxi driver who witnessed the attack and narrowly escaped being killed with members of the community reported the incident to security operatives.
The cultists later visited Matthew’s Evbuabogun Community residence, prompting him to flee for fear of being killed according to report by his family after his disappearance for weeks.
Matthew, who is a key witness in a significant murder investigation, was last seen in the Sapele road area of Benin City on July 16, 2023.
Described as 6″ tall, with black hair and brown eyes, Matthew’s disappearance has raised alarm within the community and the police, given his crucial role in an ongoing high-profile murder case as his testimony is vital to the investigation, but his sudden disappearance is a significant setback for the authority
“According to law, everybody is a suspect until proven innocent. We are doing everything in our power to find him and ensure his safety,” said a spokesperson for the Edo State Police Command. “His testimony is critical, and we are deeply concerned for his well-being.
