Senator Kalu Celebrates Eight Medical Students Four Years After Scholarship Award

By Ranmilowo Ojalumo.    The Senator representing Abia North, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has celebrated eight Nigerian students he sponsored to study Medicine and Surgery at the Latin American School of Medicine, Escuela Latinoamericana de Medicina (ELAM), as they mark four years of dedication to their medical education.

Kalu had awarded scholarships to the eight students four years ago, but expresed optimism that they would soon complete their studies and be inducted as medical doctors.

According to him, the students have demonstrated dedication, hard work and commitment throughout their medical education.

“Four years ago, I awarded scholarships to eight brilliant students to study Medicine and Surgery at the Latin American School of Medicine, Escuela Latinoamericana de Medicina (ELAM),” Kalu said.

“Today, I celebrate these young men and women as they mark four years of dedication, hard work and commitment to their medical education.

“By next year or thereabouts, by the grace of God, we look forward to seeing them inducted as medical doctors.”

The former Abia State governor said he was “immensely proud” of the students’ progress, stressing that their journey reinforced his belief in the importance of investing in the education and future of young Nigerians.

“I am immensely proud of how far they have come. Their journey reinforces my belief that one of the greatest investments we can make is in the education and future of our young people,” he added.

The eight scholarship beneficiaries are John Chibuike Ogbu from Igbo Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State; Onwuka Chika Mark from Ohafia LGA, Abia State; Marvelous Ikenna Uba from Arochukwu LGA, Abia State; Kingseed Prince Chiziterem from Bende LGA, Abia State; Peace Amarachi Dike from Ukwa West LGA, Abia State; Aramide Ridoyat Akinloye from Ibarapa North LGA, Oyo State; Michael Chukwuemeka Onwuchekwa from Bende LGA, Abia State; and Favour Chimeremeze from Isuikwuato LGA, Abia State.

Congratulating the students, Kalu urged them to remain focused and continue working hard towards the completion of their medical education.

“Congratulations to our eight future doctors. Keep working hard and keep making us proud. Your success is our collective joy,” he said.
