Man declared wanted for alleged murder of politician

The security operatives have declared one Elvis Bamawo wanted for his alleged involvement in the killing of one Chief Ahonson, a stalwart of Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) at the local government level.
Our correspondent gathered that the assassinated politician, Chief Ahonsi and one late Chief Benson Bamawo, also a stalwart of another party, Nigeria’s people Party (NPP) in the same local government had embarked on political supremacy battle, of whose party will dominate the local government.
Sources said when Chief Ahonsi realized that Chief Bamawo was already having upper hand, he allegedly sent thugs to eliminate him, after which he and his party became the dominant party in the local government.
Our correspondent gathered that the two sons of late Chief Bamawo, Julius Bamawo and Elvis bamawo were devastated over the death of their father who was gruesomely murdered in 1985, simply because they were still very young, but they vowed within themselves that they would unravel the person behind the death of their father no matter how long it would take.
Sources said after some years, Julius and Elvis got information that Chief Ahonsi of UPN was the brain behind the death of their father and as a result of this, Julius Bamawo and Elvis Bamawoh went on revenge mission to kill Chief Ahonsi.
It was gathered that Julius and Elvis Bamawo with some others hunted for Chief Ahonsi and killed him, but unfortunately, Julius Bamawo was killed in the process but Elvis Bamawo managed to escape.
It was gathered that the security operatives have since 1996, when Chief Ahonsi was allegedly murdered declared Elvis Bamawo wanted.
Source said the family members of Chief Ahonsi are also helping the security operatives to comb everywhere to locate Elvis Bamawo to ensure that he face the full wrath of the law.
Our correspondent reported that legal practitioners have analysed that Elvis would be sentenced to life imprisonment or sentenced to death if caught.
