How family chases man out of father’s house, survives political thug attack

For one Mr Akegwu Kingsley, who was born in Illishi in Edo State, on July 22, 1992; this is not the best of time as he has been running from one problem to another to save his life.

Currently, family problems allegedly orchestrated by his father first wife may have rendered him frustrated. Political thugs are also hunting to take his life, such that, it appears now that there is no safe place for him currently.

Trouble started for Kingsley back in May, 2012, when his father and mother eat poisoned food which was prepared by his mother. They were both rushed to the hospital for treatment after eating the food but unfortunately his father died in the hospital, but his mother survived, a development that signaled the beginning of problem for Kingsley.

According to sources, Kingsley’s father’s first wife however accused Kinsley’s mother of poisoning the food despite the fact that she also eat from the food, and eventually, the first wife and her children connived with their father’s family and chased Kingsley mother and her three children away from the house, because it was their belief that the food that caused the man’s death was prepared by Kingsley’s mother.

It was gathered that Kingsley’s mother went to her family house with her children for survival, having been chased out from her husband’s house and also lost everything, including farmland. It was also gathered that things were tough for them in their new place of abode but an uncle identified as Christopher Ike Kebordih, who was also a traditional ruler took Kingsley to stay with him until he later sent Kingsley to stay with his son, Uchegor and also work as a sales boy in his shop where he sells groceries.

Another trouble however surfaced for Kingsley in June 2013, when he accompanied his cousin Uchegor to market to buy some items in preparation for his traditional marriage. While at the market, there was an ongoing crisis between two parties perceived to be political thugs and members of the people Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressive Congress (APC) with various weapons.

As a son of a traditional ruler, Uchegor was said to have attempted to mediate and settle the matter, but his effort was not enough as the matter reportedly escalated leading to gunshot, and one of the gun shots eventually hit Uchegor who unfortunately died on the spot. It was gathered that one of the members of APC eventually rescued Kingsley from the spot.

The development however raised some suspicion among the PDP gangs that, since Kingsley was taken away from the spot, he must be an APC member, hence, they sort to kill him as well. Although the matter was reported to the security operatives, but they couldn’t to do anything because the hoodlums were faceless.

Meanwhile, when the threat from the PDP gang was too much for Akegwu Kingsley to bear, he reportedly ran to a nearby community called Ubiaja, but Ubiaja was not a haven for him, as he was attacked by the PDP hoodlums during the 2015 Christmas celebration while returning from a friend’s place.

Source said Kingsley was beaten mercilessly to the point of death but was saved by a Good Samaritan who took him to the hospital at Ogbede Medical Centre where he received treatment. He was reportedly discharged from the hospital after about one month at the hospital.

Although everyone thought Kingsley had died during the attack, but when the news of his survival broke out, the political hoodlums reportedly reinforced to attack him, but as of the time of this report, sources said Kingsley is nowhere to be found.
