China has congratulated Muhammadu Buhari on his re-election as Nigeria president
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lu Kang said at a daily news conference on Wednesday in Beijing that Nigeria is China’s strategic partner of cooperation in Africa.
“China always attaches high importance to bilateral ties and stands ready to work with the new Nigerian government to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in various fields and bring more benefits to the two peoples,” Lu said.
Buhari, who is the Candidate of the Ruling party All Progressive Congress (APC) emerged winner of the 2019 presidential election following the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) pronouncement on Wednesday,
Buhari scored about 15 million votes to beat Atiku Abubakar of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who score about 11 million vote. Buhari secure about 55.6 per cent of the total valid votes in the presidential election.
