The candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ajeromi Ifelodun Federal Constituency, Honourable Kolawole Taiwo, popularly known as HKT, has reemphasized his commitment to the development of the local government, saying the people in the area will feel the positive impact of the government if he’s elected to represent the local government at the National Assembly.
While speaking with Gidinews recently, the former Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly said he believes that public office is a call to serve and not otherwise, saying a vote for him is a vote for infrastructural development in the local government.
HKT as he’s fondly called by many people stressed that he will use his wealth of experience to initiate and as well lobby a lot of projects into the local government.
As part of his plan for the local government, Taiwo said he will sponsor what he called anti-trust bill, pointing that the bill will benefit every indigene and resident of the local government. He also vowed to build youth centre in the local government if elected.
He said “I have a lot of plan for my people, I will convey business roundtable discussion in Ajegunle, we need to give the business community utmost attention; we are a talented local government, and we have a lot of talents in the local government. Our youths in the local government are talented. There is a way we can package ourselves and the communities will not be lagging behind.
“I have promised and I want to reemphasize again that if I am elected, I will build youth centre in the local government through which our youths will be remolded and become good role model in the society. I can say it anywhere that people from our local government are making things happening in Nigeria, we want to make it known to everybody that you can become somebody as an indigene or resident of Ajegunle. The youth centre will be a veritable platform for our youths”, Taiwo said.

Speaking further, the former Deputy speaker of the Lagos House of Assembly said “the development of my Local government is my priority. I will push for better road construction in the local government. I will get in touch with the minister of works. We have shown to the people at Apapa that we are good neighbor to them; most of those trucks you see at Apapa go in through Ajegunle now. If elected, I will relate with the colleagues at Apapa as well as the top government functionaries to repair and construct our roads.
“Like I always say, a vote for HKT is a vote for development in Ajeromi Ifelodun. It is not just a vote for someone going into the house of representative, it is a vote empowering me to meet with the council chairman and tell him what we can do together to positively change our local government.
A vote for HKT is not just a vote for someone going to the green chamber but a vote empowering me to talk to the governor of the state to come and do something in our local government; it is a vote that will bring about the infrastructural development in Ajeromi Ifelodun. Our roads are bad now but I know what to do and I can assure my people that good time is beckoning”.
