NIWA donates N10 Million to fight COVID_19

As part of effort to fight the spread of Coronavirus pandemic in Nigeria, the National Inland Waterways Authority(NIWA) has donated the sum of N10 million.

The agency donated N5 million each to National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and the Lagos State Government.

The Agency said the donation is part of its Corporate Social Responsibility to the society to help Government fight the killer virus with more vigor and determination.

This was disclosed in a press release issued on Monday and signed by the agency’s General Manager, Corporate Affair, Mr. Tayo Fadile.

The Management of the agency, through the release also urged all Nigerians to obey government directives on Convid -19, saying that is the only way to restore sanity and ensure safety and well-being of everybody in the country.

The release also stated that the Managing Director of the agency, Chief Dr George Moghalu has directed that NIWA’s infrastructures i.e Ferry terminals, Dockyards, River ports, Jetties,Water Crafts, Barges and Tug boats  nationwide should be sanitized and the highest level of hygiene maintained.
