Crawford University mourns her Pro-Chancellor, Prof. Ibidapo-Obe

Crawford University, Igbesa has lamented the passing away of her Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Professor Oyewusi Ibidapo-Obe.
Prof. Obe died from Covid-19 complication on Sunday January 3, 2021.
The Vice Chancellor of the faith based university, Prof. Reuben Jiya Kolo, in a statement dated January 4, 2021, described the late Prof. Ibidapo-Obe as a philanthropist of note, who has served meritoriously as the Chairman of Council of the university since his appointment into the office since August 23, 2018.
The part of the statement reads “…A Philanthropist of note, Professor Ibidapo-Obe would specially be remembered for his uncommon contributions to several projects in Crawford University, and in particular, the Staff Legacy Building. Also, his exemplary leadership acumen, humane and humble disposition, dedication to service and well-articulated contributions to issues on council and board were not only outstanding but legendary.
“His wealth of experience, innate intelligence and unalloyed passion for the development of the university would ever be treasured. Even his remarkable address at the 12th Convocation Ceremony of the university held less than a month ago still reverberated. Professor Ibidapo-Obe will be sorely missed…”, the statement reads.
Professor Ibidapo-Obe, a professor of System Engineering, was a two term Vice Chancellor of University of Lagos. He was also Vice Chancellor, Federal University, Ndufu Alike-Ikwo, Ebonyi State. Prof. Ibidapo-Obe was the Pro Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Crawford University, Igbesa; First Technical University, Ibadan and the African University of Science & Technology, Abuja. The erudite professor died at the age of 71.
