Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, CON, has restated the commitment of the State Government to the safety and security of lives and properties of Ondo State residents.
The Governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa emphasised the government’s commitment at the 13th Year Coronation Thanksgiving Service of Olugbo of Ugbo Kingdom, Oba Frederick Enitolorunda Obateru Akinruntan held at Obamakin Osangangan Civic Center, Ode-Ugbo, Ilaje Local Government on Sunday.
Aiyedatiwa bemoaned the havoc cult related crisis caused Ilaje community some months back, as 97 young vibrant youths were eliminated.
The cult crisis and other security challenges necessitated the State Government to rejig the security system of the State, which has culminated to the relative peace the State is presently witnessing, he said.
Aiyedatiwa further charged the people to aid law enforcement agencies in the bid to ensure safety and security, while commending Traditional Rulers for their cooperation with the State Government.
He commended Oba Olugbo for his steadfastness and drives to see a better Ilaje Nation.
Aiyedatiwa said, Olugbo’s yearly coronation anniversary has become a platform for rich discourse on Ilaje project.
“On behalf of Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, CON, and the good people of Ondo State, we rejoice with Olugbo of Ugbo Kingdom, Oba Frederick Enitolorunda Obateru Akinruntan on the journey so far” , he said.
Others at the service are, Member, Ondo State House of Assembly representing Ilaje Constituency 1 who is also Son of Olugbo, Hon Abayomi Akinruntan, Secretary to Ilaje Local Government, Dr Bayo Segede, Monehin of Obinehin, Oba Williams Kalejaye and other Traditional Rulers, Olori Stella Akinruntan, President of Messenger of Peace Foundation, Dr Suleiman Adejoh, Hon Oyebo Aladetan, Special Assistant to Governor on New Media, Ladi Okunniga, Clergymen and others.
