Men of the Edo State police command on Friday foiled a serious attempt by suspected kidnappers to randomly kidnap people along Lagos -Benin Expressway.
It was gathered that the suspected kidnappers barricaded Lagos-Benin expressway by Ugbogui village where they were set to randomly kidnap the travelers but for timely intervention of the police that repelled the activities of the gang.
Following a strong resistance from the police who were on top of their game, the suspected kidnappers quickly retreated while the police gave them a hot pursuit.
Meanwhile, a pastor of The Lord Chosen Church, identified as Pastor Gabriel Arigo who was among those who ran into the bush when the police repelled the kidnappers’ onslaught is yet to be found.
However, a strong search has been mapped out to look for the missing pastor as the police has commenced a 24 hour nonstop patrol on Benin- Lagos road.
