Homosexual Partners Expelled from University Community, Run to Unknown Destination
A man identified as Clinton Idemudia and his homosexual partner, identified as Elvis Edobor may have run to an unknown destination after the news of their homosexual activities began to spread in the community where they live.
According to sources, Both Elvis Edobor and Clinton Idemudia were caught in homosexual act sometime in 2023, while having sexual intercourse.
The partners were undergraduates of Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma, Edo State, South- South Nigeria.
It was gathered that in 2019, Clinton Idemudia fell in love with Elvis Edobor when he got to the university, and both of them eventually became lovers, an act that is against the criminal laws in Nigeria.
Although Clinton and Edobor were aware that their act was a taboo in the community, they couldn’t break up because they got carried away until one fateful night in 2023 when they were caught in the homosexual act while they were making love to each other.
They were subsequently reported to traditional authorities and vigilante groups in the community, a development that led to their expulsion from the community after they escaped jungle justice by whiskers. This also brought an end to their studies at the university.
Following their expulsion from Ekpoma Community, the news started spreading. Even when they relocated to another community in Benin City sometimes around November, 2023, the news was still not hidden.
Although as of the time of this report, the whereabouts of both partners is unknown, sources said both partners may have ran further away to avoid facing the grievous consequences of their homosexual act, especially jungle justice of being mobbed to death by the natives.
Homosexuality is a criminal offenve in Nigeria. The Same-Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act 2014 was signed into law on January 7, 2014, by Nigeria’s former President Goodluck Jonathan. Section 5(1) of the law criminalizes same-sex sexual relationships of all sorts and stipulates a punishment of 14 (Fourteen) years imprisonment upon conviction. Equally section 214 of the Nigeria’s Criminal Code prescribes 14 years imprisonment for homosexual crimes, that is ‘carnal knowledge against the order of nature”.
Homosexual intercourse and affairs are also against the traditions and customs of the communities, not just in the South – South region but across Nigeria. It’s the traditional belief of the natives that homosexual intercourse incur the wrath of the gods which could bring manifold misfortunes upon a community.
Unless there is timely intervention of the police, Persons caught in homosexual intercourse by the natives in some parts of the country are subjected to instant jungle justice through burning to death or stoning to death, believing that their death and blood would appease the gods from venting indignation on the community.
