The security operatives have arrested a man identified as Jolly for alleged involvement in homosexual.
Homosexual is a criminal offence in Nigeria with offenders liable to 14 years imprisonment under the Nigeria same sex marriage law.
Our correspondent gathered that Jolly was arrested after she was caught naked with a male partner identified as Owobu Eromosele Martins on the same bed on a fateful night having sex.
It was gathered that the two partners attended a wedding party on the fateful day, wearing the same cloth and also sat together at the wedding party held at Ewatto Community in Edo state South- South Nigeria.
Sources told our correspondent that while the two partners were sitting together in the party, they couldn’t hide their love affairs which attracted the attention of people around, especially the youths.
It was gathered that the two partners left the party for Martins’ room unknown to them that some of the youths in the community were monitoring them.
Sources told our correspondent that the people that were monitoring the duo traced them to the room, busted the room and saw the two male on the bed having sex, an act sources said was an abomination in the Ewatto community.
Our correspondent learnt that the boys in the community descended on the duo and beat them mercilessly, inflicting various degrees of injuries on them.
Sources said the boys subsequently invited police to arrest the partners but Martins escaped before the arrival of police, hence they only arrested Jolly who it was gathered was already drunk.
Our correspondent gathered that the police have visited Martins’ family house several times and urged the family to produce the homosexual suspect but they have not been able to produce him because they don’t know his whereabouts.
A member of the family identified as Eromosele Philips told our correspondent that Martins has brought disgrace into the family by involving in the act.
As of press time, the security operatives are still looking for Martins and purpose to arrest and prosecute him.
