Security operatives declared two partners wanted over lesbianism

The security operatives have declared one Omoigui Osas Constance and her partner wanted for her alleged involvement in lesbianism, in Obarentin community in Edo State South-South Nigeria.
Lesbianism is a form of homosexuality, a criminal offence that attracted 14 years jail term in the Nigeria law.
According to a source in the community, Constance and her partner, identified as Tina were caught red handed on October 1, 2022 by some youths in the community while engaging in the criminal act.
It was gathered that when people in the community caught the two partners in the act, they seriously tortured them because such act was considered sacrilegious in the community.
The source said after the people have seriously tortured the partners, they locked them up in one of the rooms in the community town hall and then invited the police to come and take them away and lock them up in the cell.
The source said the partner managed to escape from the hall before the arrival of police, through the assistance of an unidentified person suspected to be one of the youths in the community.
One of the community leaders told our correspondent that the police together with the combined security operatives in the community have been searching everywhere to locate Omoigui Osas Constance since she escaped but they are yet to know her whereabouts till date.
