Portbizness News to Host 3rd Annual Anchor of Nigerian Ports Conference August 8

The management of Portbizness unit of Radio Nigeria 103.5fm has concluded plans to hold her annual Anchor of Nigerian Ports Conference in Lagos.

The event has been scheduled to hold on Thursday August 8, 2024 at Rockview Hotel Apapa Lagos, by 11 am.

According to the organiser, the Anchor of Nigerian Ports Conference is the media company’s annual stakeholders enlightenment and engagement program towards a better and progressive ports systems in Nigeria.

Speaking in Lagos about the upcoming conference, the MD/CEO of Portbizness, James Shodiya said that it’s the tradition of the company to gather stakeholders every year to deliberate on how best to tackle the bottlenecks and obstacles affecting trade facilitation in and around the ports.

Mr. Shodiya said that industry stakeholders will be beaming their searchlight on the theme ” Achieving Seamless Ports & Cargo Business in Nigeria: Challenges/Prospects.

In his highlights on what informed the choice of the theme for the 2024 edition of the Conference, the Portbizness News Boss said it is worrisome to know that Nigeria is strategically located at a significant point in the Atlantic ocean, with about 853 kilometers coastline and this gives Nigeria a geographical advantage to become a maritime hub in the whole west and central African region.

Inspite of this, according to Shodiya, Nigeria is still struggling with some major elements of Ports and cargo business in Nigeria.
