A man identified as Oare Raymond has been banished from his community, for his involvement in homosexual activities.
Homosexual is an act considered to be sacrilegious to the tradition of the community in Auchi, Edo State South-South Nigeria.
Raymond was said to have been caught red handed with his homosexual partner while engaging in sex in a room.
Source said some people were suspecting Raymond and his partner on the fateful day at a particular party held during the day but after the party, both of them enter the same room.
Worried by their level of closeness and behaviours while the party was going on, some of the youths subsequently busted the room where the gay were and saw them involving in the immoral act.
Source said they beat the duo mercilessly such that they fainted. Itvwas gathered that Raymond later escaped into the bush with the injuries he sustained when he heard that they wanted to take them to police station.
It was gathered that he was able to get help through a Good Samaritan from a neighboring who helped him to treat his wound.
Source said the community took Raymond partner to the hospital, but he eventually died.
The community was said to have deliberated on Raymond case and when Raymond got the news of the community deliberation, that he has been banished and be stoned to when sighted, he decided to run away to avoid the grievous penalty of being stoned to death.
Source said Raymond eventually got help from people in the neighboring community to run away to unknown destination.
Another source said Raymond may have traveled out of the country because the community has used various means to search for him but couldn’t find him.
Homosexuality is a grievous crime in Nigeria with the offenders liable to 14 years jail term.
Raymond community on the other hand, according to sources, will make him to face capital punishment, including being stoned to death if caught.
All these, the source said may be the reason Raymond ran away.
